PROGRAM.
PROGRAMMING.
Academics: The RLC curriculum consists of assigned reading, regular assignments and/or quizzes regarding any reading material to test comprehension.
Classroom Structure: During RLC, you will be trained in leadership and ministry through the following experiences:
Small Group: We’ve intentionally kept each class size small so you can get the most focused teaching to help you go deeper in your understanding of the material.
Lecture & Discussion: Each class will be led through a lecture/discussion model. Participants are required to engage in discussion and dialogue over the assigned reading to show comprehension of the material.
Leadership & Sermon Podcasts: Participants will listen to a weekly podcast on leadership or faith depending on the module they are in, followed by in-class group discussion and Q&A.
Ministry Labs: Labs are designed for you to receive the hands-on training needed for full-time ministry. These labs are lead by our pastors and staff and include topics such as: How to Prepare a Sermon, Pastoral Care, Effective Kids Ministry, and much more.
Weekend Requirements: [For Relevant Church students specifically] Each weekend, RLC participants will gain hands-on ministry experience by serving in one block of service times at one of our locations on a Sunday. Participants will also be required to attend one service time OUTSIDE of their block of serving. Individuals enrolled in RLC will also be encouraged to attend Sunday Morning Prayer.
Additional Requirements: [For Relevant Church students specifically]
Participants are encouraged to participate in 21 Days of Prayer and Fasting in January.
Participants are required to attend monthly All In Nights (or as scheduled).
Participants are required to serve during Christmas, Easter and other “big” Sunday services.
Participants are required to serve at other outreaches or events throughout the year.
ACCREDIDATION.
Relevant Leadership College serves under the leadership of the governing body of elders at Relevant Church. This unique relationship between the college and the local church has been the basis for its strength and effectiveness. Currently the appropriate accrediting associations do not make sufficient provision for local church governed colleges, thus RLC has not pursued further accreditation. It is however committed to instructional and academic excellence and thus enjoys many of the benefits of accredited colleges.
RLC is endeavoring to maintain its commitment to its ecclesiastical standards while nurturing a growing academic reputation. As a ministry of Relevant Church, college faculty and administrators feel the school is uniquely equipped to train students for life-long service in the context of their local church community.
